The Seventh Annual Special Olympics of Colorado Plane Pull. Players from Glendale’s professional Raptors team, as well as from the Women’s Premier League squad, alongside Glendale police officers, will team up to take on the Special Olympics of Colorado Plane Pull challenge. A giant game of tug-of-war, teams of up to 25 will compete to see how quickly they can pull an 82-ton Boeing 757 airplane 12 feet down the tarmac. All fundraising and proceeds benefit Special Olympics of Colorado, and the event will feature teams from across the state.

Bringing communities together, the Special Olympics of Colorado Plane Pull is entering its seventh year. This year, representatives from the City of Glendale Police Department, as well as players from the professional Glendale Raptors Rugby team and the Women’s Premier League team will participate in the event. Representing Raptors official credit union sponsor Westerra, the teams will look to pull a 164,000-pound jet 12 feet across the tarmac as quickly as possible.

Founded in 1969, Special Olympics of Colorado serves nearly 24,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities statewide. Teams participating the Plane Pull raise funds that help support year-round training and athletic competition. With players from the Glendale Raptors professional team, and Women’s Premier League players participating, the event promises to once again be a roaring success, bringing families from across Colorado together, and benefiting Special Olympics in the process.
